With Jolie`s assistance in the search for local voices, and the sounds of a girls` choir from Kabul, director Nora Twomey focused on authenticity for the animated adaptation that follows a young girl living under the Taliban regime. Authenticity was the touchstone that Nora Twomey relied upon to create her animated film adaptation of Deborah Ellis' young adult novel The Breadwinner.
